Somali marks 74th Police Anniversary

MOGADISHU- Hundreds of soldiers in brilliantly colored uniform queued and immediately launched on Thursday morning marching at a police academy in Mogadishu to celebrate their inaugural flag-blessing day: police day.

The Somali police force (SPF) celebrated its 74th anniversary across the country on Thursday. Somali government officials and Somali police band Heegan have attended the ceremony which held in Mogadishu.

The security of Mogadishu’s Somali capital was beefed up and major roads of capital were closed to protect any insecurity actions.

The president of Somali federal republic, H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo congratulated Somali Police forces on 74th anniversary and sent heartfelt condolence to families and friends who lost their beloved ones in Mogadishu’s suicide bombing at general Kaahiye Police training camp which killed at least 18 SPF soldiers in injured several others, adding that he is wishing quick recovery.

On his part, Somali prime minister has sent his congratulations to Somalia Police forces.

Units of Somali armed Police forces marched through Mogadishu’s Somalia capital in abid to demonstrate that the country getting better from decades of war.

General Muktar, the deputy Police chief and acting leader of Somalia Police forces has sent his congratulations to SPF troops on their 74th anniversary during well- organized ceremony at General Kaahiye Police training camp in Mogadishu.

The Somali Police Forces has been established on 20th December in 1943.
