Somalia: security forces attacked on residence of critic politician in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU- Somali federal security troops launched deadly attack on a prominent critic Somali politician, Abdirahman Abdi Shakur ,who was running to be Somali president and contested with the incumbent president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo for the leadership of the country on 8th February election in 2017 .

At least 5 bodyguards reportedly killed during the overnight operation which carried out by especial security forces on the residence of Abdirahman Abdishakur in Mogadishu’s Somali capital.

Sources confirmed to Danan News that the politician was injured in exchanging gunshots between government especial forces and his staff near Adden Adde international airport in Mogadishu’s Somali capital.

After exchanging gunshots Somali security forces overpowered the bodyguards of the politician and succeeded hand , Abdrahman Abdi Shakur ,taking him unknown location.
