BOSASO-Suspected Alshabab fighters armed with pistols have gunned down two Police soldiers in a market located in Bosaso city of Somalia’s Puntland Semi-autonomous regional state on Monday, officials confirmed to Danan News.
The soldiers were killed while they were collecting taxes from the businessmen in the market by gunmen believed to be Alshabab militants.
The murders reportedly fled from scene of the killing shortly before security forces arrived on the spot.
Puntland Security forces launched manhunt operation which is aimed at to arrest those who behind the attack.
No group has immediately taken the responsibility for the killing, but Alshabab , Somalia based militants tied with Al-Qaeda carried out such attacks in the past, to overthrow Somalia’s UN backed government.
