MOGADISHU-At least 17 Somali Police Forces have been confirmed dead and over 25 others injured after deadly suicide bomber blew himself up inside a Police academy in Mogadishu’s Somali capital, Danan News reported.
An eyewitness who urged to remain unnamed, speaking to Danan News said that the suicide bomber dressing a Somali Police forces ‘uniform blew himself up while the troops were chanting and preparing for their establishment.
‘I heard massive explosion, which rocked across my village. I shocked than I came out of my house, seeing many people from the scene of the explosion which is not far away from my home. I Saw At least 25 wounded soldiers and over 17 dead troops “, a according to the observer.
Somali based insurgents, Alshabab militants, the Al-Qaeda associated group immediately claimed the responsibility for the deadly attack, saying one of their fighters carried out the attack.
The suicide bomber has targeted in General Kahiye Police in Mogadishu training academy which resulted in the death of at least 17 SPF soldiers and the wounds of over 25 others.
The death toll of blast said is likely to rise, according to witnesses.
Alshabab the Jihadist group in Somalia claimed to have killed about to 30 Somali police forces, including officers.
The militants carry out frequent deadly attacks against Somali national army, AMISOM peace keeping forces and government officials in Mogadishu and across the country.
