Mogadishu main streets blocked as high-level meeting kicks off

MOGADISHU- Heavy security troops have been deployed and blocked all Mogadishu’s key roads to heighten the security as high-level meeting on the national security kicked off in the Somalia’ capital, Mogadishu, Danan reports.

Somali president, H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has presided over the conference and officially opened the meeting in the presence of Somali regional administration presidents, the Federal officials and international partners on Monday morning.

Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre said that this meeting is very grateful to All Somali people.

He added that the conference is aimed at discussing over security issues across the war-torn country, Somalia, and that all international partners were invited to share their plans in providing support for the successful implementation of the national security.

The ongoing conference is also due to discuss over the fight against Somalia-based insurgent Alshabab militants which has a linkage with Al-Qaeda group.

Meanwhile, car bomb fitted into a vehicle belonging to a senior military officer detonated inside a military camp near Zoope junction amid the security of city tightened.
